Cub Scout Pack 618 is hosted at Painted Rock Elementary in Poway – although we have several scouts who attend other schools.
Our pack meetings are the first Thursday of the month, at 6:15 in the Painted Rock MPR. Our first meeting of the year is Thursday, Sep 1. If you can make it, this should be a great introduction to our pack.
In addition to any activities that your scout’s individual Den hosts, the pack hosts a number of events to choose from throughout the year. Here are some of our recent and recurring pack events:
- Usually three family campouts a year
- Favorites are Dos Picos in Ramona, and Lake Dixon in Escondido
- The first pack campout this year will be Nov 11-13 at BSA’s newest camp, Camp Bashor in the Otay Lakes Regional Park
- Also: Webelos are invited to BSA’s Webelos Woods at the Mataguay Scout Ranch in Santa Ysabel. October 14-16 this year
- Raingutter Regatta
- Pinewood Derby
- Poway Days Parade
- Miramar Air Show
- Stargazing with the San Diego Astronomy Association
- Service Projects:
- Tree planting at Sycamore Ranch
- School parking lot cleanup
- Veterans’ Day service helpers
- Bottle rockets at Spring Fling
- iFly science workshop and indoor skydiving
- USS Midway tour
- Swim Party at Poway community pool
- Scout Day at the Padres
